Tasca Blog - Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I’m not sure about everyone else, but I’m ready to go racing in 2011!

The holidays went by fast and it was great to have Christmas and New Year with our new addition - Dylan Anthony. The entire Tasca family had a great Christmas and everyone is doing well.

The first of the year comes around fast and our Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing team has been in high gear since Pomona. We’re building two brand new race cars from the ground up, including new motors and blowers. We’re also working on getting race cars and trailers re-wrapped. There is so much that goes into the off season to get ready for Pomona.

In fact, we’re getting ready for Palm Beach. We head out to test on the 27th of January to get to the track down there. Our plan is to test all week, January 31-February 4, and we end the test session with a match race on February 4th. If you are in the Florida area and you want to come over to Palm Beach International Raceway, it will be an event. When you get some of the top teams in the country that get five days of practice and it ends with a match race under the lights, I think you’re going to see some world record runs. Be sure to check out www.racepbir.com for more information on the match race.

I’m really looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. I’m in Charlotte this week. We did a photo shoot with our 2011 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Shelby Mustang Nitro Funny Car. We’re getting a lot of the artwork necessary to give us a fresh new look for the new season. For me to be here in Charlotte and see these race cars starting to come together is just terrific. The blower dynos are popping off and we’re all excited for this season.

We’re getting ready for the new season with a clean slate; everyone is equal going into the 2011 season. For me, Chris [Cunningham] has said a few times, ‘Boss, you look like you want to get in the seat and drive it.’ That’s what we love to do; get behind the wheel of these race cars.

As the days click by, I’m counting down the days until we get to Palm Beach.

See you at the race track.
